Alan has lived in Tullahoma for over 18 years, along with his wife Deborah, a high school English teacher. A native of Central Indiana, he has two adult children and three grown granddaughters, one of whom is also a Realtor®. Alan served as a manufacturing engineer at General Motors for many years, and also owned a franchised motorcycle dealership. Most recently, he retired from the automotive publishing business as vice-president, managing editor, and advertising manager of two custom car magazines. He is the author of five non-fiction books and has contributed to several more, in addition to having freelanced for several vintage vehicle magazines. He was inducted into the National Hot Rod & Custom Car Hall of Fame in 2018, in the Journalist & Photographer category.
He’s the membership chairman of Historic Nashville, Inc. Alan lived in a historic district in Indiana and is a member of several historic societies, and historic preservation groups, including the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Alan is a Lifetime Donor member of the Wheels Through Time Museum in North Carolina, and a lifetime member of Nashville’s Lane Motor Museum. His professional memberships include the Middle Tennessee Association of Realtors®, National Association of Realtors®, and Tennessee Association of Realtors®.
